Our RIALPA Malahide outing was played on October 6th. We had 44 golfers take part
including 16 RIALPA members and 3 guests. It was fantastic to see our final outing of the
year so well supported and in particular to have so many of our retired colleagues in
attendance.

This was the first outing in a very long time where the weather threatened, although apart
from the strong southerly wind and the occasional downpour it remained manageable.
After golf was concluded 24 remained for a sit down meal and prize giving.

Well done to all our prize winners and especially to retired Capt. Andrew Tisdall who won
both competitions, the Red Barons outing and the RIALPA tournament, claiming the Capt.
Frank Thompson memorial trophy (aka ‘Thumpers Jug!’)

Our thanks also to the retired Capt. Gordon Pyper and the RIALPA committee for their
generous contribution towards the prizes.

Thanks to all our golfers for making it such a great day and we look forward to seeing you all
again at our next Red Barons outing in May 2023. For those wishing to play some more golf
we are running the Pat McNamara Fireball Trophy over the winter months, closing date for
entry is Sunday October 16th.
